Nigel started his DJ career working many of the top nightclubs in the NW in the 80's.

 

In 1990 he finally got his first big radio gig at Rock FM doing overnights.

From there he worked at Kit Kat Radio, The Bay, Lancaster for 7 years before a move to Radio Wave.

Nigel also worked at Lakeland Radio & of late Sandgrounder Radio.

 

Becoming well known in the NW, Nigel worked every show from weekday breakfast to outside broadcasts.

 

He even appeared on Sky TV featuring him working his magic in a live radio studio! 

Nigel will be hosting the weekday Breakfast show 7-12

Ian Fortt Sung as half of an Everly Brothers tribute for 23 years after appearing on stars in their eyes, appearing in the UK's biggest venues including St David’s hall in wales and the O2 and the S.E.C.C in Scotland.

 

Often seen on the screens appearing as an extra in Waterloo Road, Shameless, often in the Rovers with a pint in Corrie and Hollyoaks.....and was the janitor in the BBC's CBBC's ‘ So Awkward’.

 

Ian is a man of many talents from doing Voice overs along with the fact of selling hundreds of paintings worldwide!

Ian presents Saturdays 12-2

and Sundays 9-1pm

John Pye is well known in the Northwest working on many of the regions radio stations.

He has worked at Rock FM, Radio Wave, Lakeland Radio, Smooth Radio to name a few, John loves the Fylde Coast and northwest.

With bags of radio experience and presentation variation, John is excited to be joining the Sands Radio presenters team.

John can be heard every Friday afternoon on the Drive Show 4-6pm in December.

 

Mr Pye will also be part of the specialised shows over the Christmas period on Sands.

Ben Clarkson

Lived on the Fylde coast all his life and is a qualified Chartered Accountant, Ben's love of music is second to none.

From the '80s up to date, Ben's knowledge helps Sands Radio compile our music output. 

Injecting his business experience and youth into the radio station's structure, along with his love of music, has made him one of the key players in the station's success.
