First let me say how pleased I am to be involved in, what I believe is a great radio station.
I have loved music for as long as I can remember. As I
grew up it became my life support system.
My own career in Broadcast Journalism ..which is a posh title for having fun and getting paid for something you love and would gladly do for nothing
Anyway I began when, like most of us wanting to get started, I volunteered to work in Hospital Radio naively, at 17 reading requests like.. Please play Sexual Healing for Tracy in the gynaecology ward !
Whilst studying Performing Art’s, I also took a Journalism course and luckily for me, a new local radio station had launched and asked would I be interested in being involved …would I ..well go on then!!
That was some journey…first of all making the obligatory brews, then overnights then various ‘cover slots’ before finding my ‘natural habitat’ Saturday Sport .
A pleasure and a privilege to be involved over many years, events including, a World Cup, Olympic Games, Open Golf Championships as my passion for my ‘local football teams’ Blackpool Fleetwood and
more recently AFC Fylde..
I now bring this passion for sport and music to Sands radio , where I am looking forward to keeping you informed and entertained over the coming weeks !
